 Meet The Coach

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
I have been involved in bicycle racing for since 1980 and I was riding recreationally for 5 years befor that. I can honestly say that cycling has become part of who I am and it's what I do! I stay in it for the fitness, the competition, the camaraderie and all the cool gear.  To me cycling is the greatest sport there is. It's brutal, Coach_page_pic.jpgcolorful, dangerous, glorious! To be successful you need extreme dedication, and stamina. You can also be successful on various levels. One person might be a successful cyclist by loosing 25 pounds and regaining their health and vitality. Another persons success might be to keep up with the leaders on the weekly group ride. Yet another persons success might be to win an Olympic gold medal. success can be viewed as being relative to your goals, your current fitness level and your age. My Goal is to help you achieve your goals!

I started getting interested in coaching because I want to help other people to get more out of the sport Coach_page_pic.jpgand more out of life. Participating in a sport like cycling, leads to a healthier lifestyle. Over the years I have helped numerous people to get started in cycling, or improve their ability. Whether you are just getting started, or if you've been riding for a few years and are now ready to take it to the next level, I can help you!
Depending on your goals, your coaching may involve developing a plan as a one time deal or you may require periodic follow up. Whatever your needs are, I will do my best to accommodate you.

Who Needs A Coach?
Are you just starting out in cycling? Have you been riding for a while but you can't seem to improve beyond a certain level? Do you read training articles, and keep changing your training model based on the latest plan in a magazine? Do you read articles or books but have trouble applying the information to your daily training regimen? Do you keep fiddling with your saddle height and position, but your still not sure if it's right?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then I can help you!
Do you know what your current Lactate Threshold is? Do you understand your Heart Rate Monitor? If you don't train with heart rate, do you understand "Rate of Perceived Exertion"? When you read about "Hard Days" and "Easy Days", do you know how hard is hard enough and how easy is easy?
If you answered "no" to any of these questions, I can help you!
